WELCOME

This Workshop intends to promote the collaboration of an emerging group based in the Ribeirão Preto Campus of  the Universidad de São Paulo, with well established centers in Brazil and abroad. The Workshop on Stochastic Modeling should be a forum to discuss new developments in probability theory and its applications.

The Workshop will take place at the Department of Physics and Mathematics, which forms part of the Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Ribeirão Preto. Ribeirão Preto is located in the interior of the state of São Paulo, about  300 Km north of  the city of São Paulo.

Activities include plenary talks, a maximum of six per day,  and a poster session to stimulate the participation of graduate students. The topics of this meeting will include percolation, random walks in random environment, interacting particle systems, random sequences, systems of interacting agents, stochastic calculus  and the application of these to models in finance,  economy and  physics.
